        "rendered": "<p>Precipitated Sulfur is obtained from ordinary sulfur with lime water or other alkaline or alkaline earth solution, subsequently filtering and treating the filtered liquid with hydrochloric acid. It occurs as a microcrystalline or amorphous powder, white, without sandy particles, pale yellow, greenish-yellow or grayish-yellow, odorless and tasteless. Very slightly soluble in water and alcohol; slowly and usually incompletely soluble in 2p. of carbon disulfide. Soluble in 60p. of chloroform, 600p. of ether and 100p. Of olive oil; soluble in petroleum ether, turpentine oil and hot solutions of alkali hydroxides, forming polysulfides and thiosulfates.<\/p>",
