        "rendered": "<p>Iodoform 25g. Iodoform has antiseptic action because it releases iodine slowly after contact with tissues. As a local antiseptic it is used in the treatment of ulcers, painful wounds, burns, venereal, scrofulous and tuberculous ulcers. It is also prescribed in the form of gauze impregnated with iodoform, to plug cavities after oral or otorhinolaryngological surgery. In veterinary medicine it is also used as an antiseptic. Topically it is used in the treatment of cutaneous and otic myiasis in cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, dogs, cats, and birds in the form of powders or sprays sprayed on the infected areas. It had also been formulated as a paste of iodoform and bismuth subnitrate, which was used on wounds and abscesses.<\/p>",
